Bug Description

Binary package hint: scilab

If I try to run scilab-bin or scilab-bin-cli it yields: "error while loading shared libraries: libscishell.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". But the file exists in /usr/lib/scilab.

I'm currently using Ubuntu lucid (development branch). Scilab package version is 5.2.1-8.

Thanks for the report!

A rebuilt package is currently being built here:
https://launchpad.net/~showard314/+archive/ppa

When it is done, please test this package and let me know how it goes
(I will test too, but I might not be reply for a little while)

I've updated it but nothing is changed. Scilab doesn't start because of same error.

Could you confirm that /usr/bin/scilab contains

Thank you. It looks like my misunderstanding. I had installed scilab-full-bin instead of simply "scilab" package. So, I installed the one and the problem went away. Now it's working.

Sorry for the noise.

In fact, I don't want to spend too much time on this ... scilab & scilab-cli are the right packages.
