Bug Description

Binary package hint: kpackagekit

When you switch off the automatic updates in kpackagekit,it still checks daily for updates.Thus refusing to obey my custom settings

This is closer to the bug I'm experiencing than https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/477250
#477250 is only a bit of this bug as far as I can tell because it's not just the settings for daily or weekly, it's also the settings for 'install with conformation', 'download in background' and 'automatically update' similarly have no affect
No preference under software sources for automatic update work, nor does checking/unchecking the tickbox

My system is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with Kernel 2.6.32-22-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 3 19:31:57 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

The issue reported here is not the same as the one reported in bug #477250. Checking for updates without permission is one thing, but downloading and installing them without permission is a lot different. This really needs to be addressed.

I'm using the same system profile as v1t03k: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with Kernel 2.6.32-22-generic

kpackagekit is set to only notify if new updates are available, but it is automatically downloading and installing updates without permission.
