Bug Description

Ubuntu One Preferences are not working at all.
When you try to open the preferences it shows like opening for about 10 seconds and then close. No error messages.

I checked on ~/.config/ubuntuone/ and there is no config file, nor any file in it.

This start happening after last week updates (or so).
Using Ubuntu Lucid Linx (10.04)

PaiSand,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with Ubuntu One. Could you please try the following and let us know how that goes.

   1. Quit the Ubuntu One client
   2. Open Applications->Accessories->Passwords and Encryption Keys
   3. Click on the arrow next to "Passwords"
   4. Right-click on the Ubuntu One token and select "Delete"
   5. Go to https://one.ubuntu.com/account/machines/
   6. Click on the checkbox next to your computer
   7. Click the "Remove selected computers" button
   8. Open Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One
   9. a web page should open, prompting you to add your computer to your Ubuntu One account
  10. Add your computer

You should be connected after you follow these steps. If you are not connected, can you please attach the following files to this bug report?

~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/oauth-login.log
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log

Thank you,
duanedesign

I can connect now, even I can see the ~/Ubuntu One folder, but it don't sync anything.
I've tried everything, including uninstalling and reinstalling, cancelled subscription and subscribed again, deleted the meta-data, start and stop using u1sdtool command line, etc.-
But that is another bug.

I have the same problem. I upgraded to 10.04 beta 2 a few days ago.

1. At first I could use ubuntu one fine, except that I couldn't activate most of the preferences in the ubuntu one preferences dialogue. The controls were all there, but they were greyed out. The only preference I could use was to activate contacts syncing.

2. A couple of days ago the contacts syncing disappeared (was greyed out) as well in the preferences dialogue. Also, I no longer have the ubuntuone icon in my notification area.

3. As of yesterday or the day before I haven't been able to even open the preferences dialogue. When I start it I get an activity indicator on my cursor for a few seconds and then nothing. No window opens. In system monitor I can see that ubuntuone-preferences is in the processes list, but it's listed as sleeping. The odd thing is that the process seems to be occupying a lot of system resources. My processor starts straining until I kill the ubuntuone-preferences process, at which point it returns to normal.

4. Today I tried the steps recommended above by duanedesign, but no dice. Even after removing my computer and deleting my ubuntuone token from the passwords dialogue, I still can't get any response from the ubuntuone-preferences launcher (either the menu item under "System > Preferences" or the link in the panel me-menu.

I was just about to switch over from dropbox to a 50G ubuntuone account, but this makes it absolutely impossible. I don't get any error message or crash report, so there's none of that info to provide here.

If it helps, my system is:
hp Pavilion dv2000 laptop
Processor: 2x intel T2080 @1.73GHz
Memory: 2G
onboard intel graphics (mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express)

Aaarg! I couldn't seem to attach both files to that last comment. Here's the second one. There are actually several files named syncdaemon-exceptions.log but I think the attached one is the latest.
