Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

The clear formatting button stopped to work after my upgrade to Lucid.

Steps to reproduce:
- copy a link from a webpage to the chat window
- click in the clear formatting button (or press Ctrl+R)

Nothing happens.

I just found the upstream bug report pointing to this issue: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/11173
A work-around is to select all the text before pressing the button. It is counterintuitive, but works.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Do you get the same with Lucid or Maverick? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

When I reported this bug I was already using Lucid and, as far as I know, the pidgin package in Lucid is still the same (1:2.6.6-1ubuntu4). So, yes, I still have the same behavior with Lucid.

Unfortunately I don't have a Maverik system to test.
