mail-notification icon inside the notification area has a white background and is not transparent thereby no blending with the gnome panel. This behaviour also happens to other icons running in the notification area such as ksensors and checkgmail.

Bug Description

Binary package hint: mail-notification

Running Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Alpha 3. I expect these icons running in the Notification Area to have a transparent background so that they blend-in with the underlying Gnome Panel

The said white background creates a very ungainly visual appearance.

Thanks for reporting :)

This is a dupe of #538853. I understand that this one was reported before #538853 but I feel that the bug title of #538853 is more generic and more telling of the whole problem since it affects far more than the mail-notification icon.
