Bug Description

Hi,

I've got two small requests which I'm really missing and currently prefer using KTorrent over qbittorrent which I really like to switch to

1) shutdown after download completes. KTorrent offers that and I use it often. I leave my PC running at night just to download some torrents but I don't like keeping it running the whole night and would like a possibility of shutting down the PC either after all torrents are pulled in or at a a set custom time

2) Possibility to stop torrent immediately after download completes. Yes, it is preferable to keep seeding for a while after download completes, but I often am already seeding other torrents and would like to stop those that I'm currently downloading. This in order to manage my upload speeds more efficiently and have a bit more of control

Thanks

I may implement 1) in the future. However, I don't like 2) because it looks like a leecher feature.

OK, and yes, 2) looks like a leecher thing, but so does 1) as if configured to shut down the PC after a torrent is pulled in, its effect is the same as 2)

Hi, Christophe!

Mabe it's better implement in this way: Shutdown after downloading of torrent and seed ration comes 1.0
Something like this, i think and it will not looks as leecher feauture anymore. For example, default settings of aria2 (console bittorrent client) make it stop seeding after seed ratio comes 1.0

@Dmitry

Yes, that's a good idea and it's already possible to stop torrents based on a custom set seed ratio. One can configure that in Preferences -> Bittorrent -> Share Ratio Settings. Now if only there was a shutdown setting.

On a further but similar note wrt wishlist.... While playing around, I noticed two more things that I'd like to see implemented. I hope it's ok to just post them in this thread instead of opening a new topic

1) The IP Filter setting only accepts local files. It'll be better if it also could accept URLs like KTorrent does *and* ability to decompress zip and gzip files. For example, Bluetack.co.uk offers its blocklists in both zip and gzip compression. In KTorrent, all one needs to do is just paste the URL of the blocklist and the client will fetch it on regular set intervals by the user, including decompressing the blocklist if it's compressed in zip or gzip.

2) It'll be nice to have for each torrent, the amount of download and upload displayed. I right-clicked on the bar that shows Name, Status, Size, etc for each torrent, but there's no option present about download and upload amount. Currently, if one wants to know how much he's been uploading or downloading for a specific torrent, he needs to select that torrent and then look at the bottom right for information. Preferable and more easier/direct would be if each torrent displayed in its line how much downloading and uploading has been done :)

Count me in for this one. uTorrent supports it. I seed whenever I can. But for example if I have a bandwidth limited connection and I'm downloading from the same place where I already seeded a lot, I don't really want to waste my bandwidth of that month just to "feel good". (and my 50kbps upload won't save the 1gbps server based swarm I guess :))

Please, implement this one.

uTorrent does it when you enable ratio 0 (at scheduler) and type "0" in the box.

I believe 2) was added in qBittorrent v2.3.0.

Also, I have just added 1) to SVN for qBittorrent v2.4.0
