Bug Description
Because the Depends field in debian/control is overridden it is not possible to add dependencies which are not imported python modules. Examples could be command line utilities that are called through subprocess or programs that have a D-Bus API but no Python module, e.g. telepathy-idle.
You could add the dependency to Recommends but some users may not install recommended packages by default and thus making the program useless.
