Launch animation not shown

Works fine here... So could you be more specific? Launcher for what application doesn't show the animation? What launching animation type do you use, etc.

The bug is that no animation is shown when ANY launcher is clicked. It is not application specific, it happens with any launcher I define, for any application. For example, a launcher for gnome-terminal shows no animation when launched.

The animation is not shown for any custom animation I set for the launch animation e.g. Squish (Awn Settings > Preferences > Icon Effects > Edit > Launch animation: ). It is also not shown with any preset theme e.g. Classic in the dropdown menu (Awn Settings > Preferences > Icon Effects).

As I said before, the animations for Open, Close, Hover & Attention are all shown correctly when a task is opened, closed, an icon is hovered over, and an application requests attention respectively. It is only the Launch animation that is NEVER shown in ANY situation with ANY launcher.

If it helps, my gconf key for animations (/apps/avant-window-navigator/app/icon_effect) has the value of 20231.

What happens if you set everything to None except the Launching animation and then start an app via launcher?

Same here. I just tried setting all of them to none except for launch and it still doesn't happen. I'm on Karmic with Compiz fusion and two monitors.

If I set all animations to None except Launch then when I click on a launcher to launch the app almost nothing happens. There is a small highlighting of the icon which you can just see in the attached picture. Same thing happens with any animation set to Launch. I also tried the same thing with metacity with compositing on, and got exactly the same result, so it doesn't seem to be specific to compiz.

I really have no idea, it works fine here, can you make a screencast please?

I made a screencast, of low quality to preserve bandwidth. I show that all the animations work, by going through them on the Hover animation, and you can see they work fine. I then go through setting each one for the Launch animation, and then launch terminal with each one. As you can see, nothing is shown.

Same behaviour for me, but I think I found a workaround.
To enable custom launch animation try to check "Show dialog after long press" in Task Manager options.

Confirming, it's an issue with long_press disabled.

Should be fixed as of rev 607. Please test.
