Bug Description

during the installation of ubuntu 6.06,
I configured the partitioner manually asking for a last secondary partition which was supposed to include two logical partions:
- the 1st one of type ext3 to mount /home on it
- the 2nd one of type ntfs (to share with windows)

A couple of times I tried to proceed and the installation got to a point where everything was stalled (no reaction at all, no window drag), so I rebooted.
One time (imposing the same disk configuration) the system crashed during installation, and the logs are reported below.

I think the problem regarded the ntfs logic partition withing a secondary partition, since after I removed it from the partitioner configuration the installation ended finely.

Thanks for the bug report. Is this still a problem on edgy?

Unfortunately you appear to have attached /var/log/syslog twice, but not /var/log/installer/syslog which (on dapper; not on later releases) is the one I really need.

Closing this bug. Please re-open it if you are able to supply the requested files at some point. (you would have to repeat the install attempt with the same Live CD to get them) It would also be useful if you tried the same procedure with a later version of Ubuntu (7.04 or 7.10) and reported your findings.
