update manager with high memory usage after reboot in karmic

When it occurs could you please open a terminal and provide the output of the following command:
$ ps -eo pmem,pcpu,rss,vsize,args| sort -k 1 -r | head -11

It will return the top ten of the memory consumers.

Ok, I've done the job on a brand new installed karmic. Have a look on the information from gnome-system-monitor (at the end of both listings).

For me this is a strong bug. It is not possible working normal after manuell systemupdates. Every time a second reboot is necessary, when the system has low memory (e.g. 256 MB). On systems with more memory the performance is reduced.

Do you need more information? I've seen the bug, respectively the used memory capacity on four machines after every manually system update.

Here the summarized information about the used memory once more:

1 .Normal capicity: ~160 MB

2. After a manually system update: ~260 MB

3. After a reboot: ~160 MB
