Bug Description
I usually run my Windows XP system as a restricted user, and execute installs through the "Run as..." option (so I haven't checked what happens if I try and install Mixxx directly as a user with install privileges). I just installed 1.7.1 and everything went well, but I couldn't find it in my restricted user desktop or start menu|programs.
It was just a simple question of moving the links from the privileged account to "All Users" and set ACLs correctly, but I think it would be much better if this was done from the installer. I understand some users won't want their programs being published at "All Users", so perhaps a checkbox will be needed, but I hope it doesn't require much coding and little bugs like this can be polished away.

Fixed in r2540 of the 1.7 branch. Thanks for pointing this out! The installer now allows non-admins to install Mixxx into their profiles, and admins can choose to install just for themselves or for everyone.
