Dragging a desktop icon into gnome terminal does not work

Bug Description
On Ubuntu 9.10, a drag-n-drop of a desktop icon, representing a mount point, into an open gnome terminal will not produce the desired results.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open a new gnome terminal
2) drag a desktop icon representing a mount point into gnome terminal
3) drop icon into gnome terminal
4) pasted text on gnome terminal will show as something like "x-nautilus-
Why doesn't nautilus paste the mount point location, which the icon represents? (eg. in my case, it should have pasted '/media/
