Bug Description
Because upstream ffmpeg considers libfaac non-free (see bug 374900) the current version of ffmpeg in Karmic does not contain any aac or libfaac support. It would be great if Medibuntu would supply a libfaac enabled ffmpeg for Karmic.
Building one from the current ffmpeg-extra source package in Karmic is VERY easy. If you just add the libfaac-dev package to the build-depends in the debian/control file the package automatically builds ffmpeg with libfaac support. No other actions are necessary.
With kind regards,
Paul

Hi,
Thanks for your bug report.
I'm subscribed to ffmpeg bug reports, so I've been aware of that for some time, but too lazy to add a package. ;]
I've a test package ready for karmic (with libfaac and libamr support), I'll upload it in our staging area soon. I'm marking it as Won't Fix for lucid at the moment, as I don't know how the situation will evolve (wrt libfaac license, and openamr use instead of libamr).
