Bug Description
Preface: I'm not sure this bug belongs here, please reassign if neccessary.
The wrong driver ('tulip') is loaded for Davicom ethernet cards. Apparently, Davicom is SEMI-compatible with the tulip driver, so it happens that everything appears to be functioning (it even shows up in network-admin) but it cannot get IP addresses from the router (dhcp). After several hours of hunting on google, I found out the solution here: http://
to remedy it:
rmmod tulip
rmmod dmfe
modprope dmfe
I guess you need to remove the dmfe driver as well because some how the card does not get "allocated" to it, because it was presumably earlier "allocated" to the dmfe driver.
lspci:
