Bug Description

I just notice that once the full install via Ubiquity is done, you end with a system that is indeed the same as the live version, but *without* the apt sources of Puredyne's PPA (and any other we might need or add)! This make the whole idea of user friendly installation pointless.

Do we need to have a customised Ubiquity to have our sources respected?

As far as i understand we have to preseed ubiquity. Have a file somewhere on the medium with the default answers to ubiquity's or rather d-i questions, tell ubiquity where to find it using a file=bla in the kernel boot arguments and then call ubiquity with --automatic. I have tested this other settings in the installed and it works.

Will make the necessery changes in the cd so we can test more.

i have added automatic-ubiquity and file=/pure.cfg in boot parms of live iso. From what I understand this will make ubiquity with --automatic when its called, needed for the preseed file pure.cfg to be taken into account. Don't seem to be doing it, will look at this during this sprint.

Just built a fresh ISO (from broth devel rev 239) and installed it, and now I seem to have the correct apt sources (p:d ppa, medibuntu, cinelerra etc). Nice.

sources are installed correctly but aptitude complains that there are duplicates.

I reopen the bug but with a lower priority. What we have now is good enough for C&C release.

I don't see that compaint about duplicates (beta3); still happening or closeable?

Just tried it on an intel iMac, and I do see the complaint about duplicates. This is after doing a ubiquity install, then I ran "sudo apt-get install htop" and got the messages.

Re the duplication issue: is it because the sources are set once in the preseed, and once in chroot_sources ?

cat stock/binary_local-includes/pure.seed; ls stock/chroot_sources

If this is indeed the cause then I don't know which should be removed...!

Could be related yes.

We can't remove the chroot_sources though, they are used to pull/update packages when the chroot is populated...

after ubiquity install, it seems to be because the pure.seed get added to /etc/apt/sources.list , but also there are files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
