Sabayon save its profile files in /etc/desktop-
This directory is also use by the package desktop-profiles to save configuration files.

OK, I've fixed this upstream in sabayon's git repo. Give me a couple of days, and I'll put an update in my PPA.
conf dir is now /etc/sabayon
Profiles are stored in /etc/sabayon/
