Bug Description

I have cursor enabled in settings, but it does not display. In reading another post, here is my setup.

I do have a custom cursor theme installed.

If you cannot grab the look of the custom cursor, can you at least trap the location and present the default in the capture?

Can you add a 'sparkle' option? See the TNT app I referenced in my other post 85419. They include a sparkle option to help show attention to a specific location.

Could you have the cursor option as a hot-key of option on the main page instead of in preferences. I like to toggle the cursor on/off during a session and having to jump over to edit/preferences ... can get tedious.

Regards,
Scott.

This should already be the case. Could you please post the name of your
custom cursor theme? I would like to have a look at it myself...

I'll have a look at it.

The same applies to delay. I've added a control to the statusbar of the
application window to change this setting easily (latest experimental
branch), see:

I think it is a good idea to add a simple toggle button for the mouse
cursor as well. Thanks.

Hm, sorry but I cannot reproduce this. I've created a sample screenshot with Shutter capturing the cursor just fine.

Do you see any errors in the terminal when doing this?

I think I found the problem. If I capture a window/desktop, etc. It works fine. If I capture using advanced selection where I can select the area, then I get no cursor as you have the drag cursor enabled so you can move the box around. I an mot sure if you can add the option that if the 'grab' cursor is in the selected box, the normal cursor is included in the screen.

I can certainly work around this if using the window capture option, but it would be a nice feature as I often need to capture a select area and include the cursor instead of having to resize a window and try to squeeze in required info.

Perhaps a hot-key to toggle drag mode on/off and off would present the cursor in the capture.

Scott.

Ah, ok. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. This is a real bug but it was easy to fix. I've committed the changes to our dev-tree and it will be fixed in the next version of Shutter.
You can currently work around the problem by configuring a 1sec. delay in Shutter's preferences.

Mario

Btw, I'll open a new bug report for the sparkle option when needed (I've not checked it yet) and close this one as fixed.
