Bug Description

I saw it is discussion on blogspot. But I am registered here.

Ubuntu 9.04, OpenERP 5.06. "base_report_unicode" taken from
http://www.openerp.com/download/modules/5.0/

I have tried to copy the folder to application "addons" folder.
I see that in file .../report/render/rml2pdf/__init__.py
is only one line:
from trml2pdf import parseString, parseNode

From blogspot I know it should be something more, but I don't know what I do wrong.

I still have black boxes instead of national characters in pdfs.

After some information about successful installation of this module I made some trials and found following way to install the module working:

1. You CANNOT install this module usual way using "Administration - Modules management - Import Module"
If you did so you have to remove the zip file from folder ADDONS of your openerp-server.
In my case it was /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/openerp-server/addons
Before you remove it you can use the file to extract the contents as in point 2.

2. Extract the zip contents to addons folder so in addons folder you get subfolder "base_report_unicode" with its contents like in zipfile. Remember to remove "base_report_unicode.zip" from addons folder.

3. In OpenERP client run "Administration - Modules Management - Update Modules List". Don't mind lack of correct repository. It looks it doesn't meter.

4. You should see module "base_report_unicode" in module list. Schedule it for installation and run "Apply Scheduled Upgrades".

I take no responsibility it is correct way to install this module because it looks like trick. But after simple check it looks that it works.

I tried it with file taken from http://www.openerp.com/download/modules/5.0/
But it works with file from bazaar as well.

I am sure it worked when I wrote above comment but I cannot repeat it any more. It looks that you have to get the newer module (1.1) from:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openerp-commiter/openobject-addons/trunk-extra-addons/files
and restart the server after installation similar to that above.
