Yes, when i'm starting 'ubuntuone-client-applet' there should launch a web page,
to add my computer. This web page doesn't launch, but the applet appears in my
taskbar and it seems to work fine.

I'm just starting the applet. The tutorial says 'A web page will launch after
clicking Ubuntu One' but this never happens. There are no more steps to
describe. I'm registered at launchpad, i have an account at ubuntuone.com.

The oauth logs says something about a moved webpage... from https://ubuntuone.com/oauth/authorize/' to
'https://one.ubuntu.com/oauth/request/'

Sorry, i could not give you more informations...

kind regards,
boe

Please try this:

Right-click on the icon of the applet and select "Open Web Page".

If i'm currently logged in this page comes up -> https://one.ubuntu.com/files/

If i'm not logged the normal ubuntuone site comes up -> https://one.ubuntu.com/

All Addons like Noscript are deactivated.

Then I guess that everything is OK.

The page you're talking about should come up the first time you launch it,
so you could configure it,
to provide login/pass.

I don't think so.

When i provide login/pass there is just coming up the normal 'files page' [2].

In the 'Installation Instructions' is written,

'Add Your Computer The final step is adding your computer to your Ubuntu One
account. A web page will launch after clicking Ubuntu One in the previous step
(see the image below). Simply click on 'Add this Computer'. Because this is your
computer, it's necessary for you to explicitly allow the software to access your
Ubuntu One account.)'

Something like this[1] should appear. This never happens. There is no
possibility to add my computer to my Ubuntu One account. I found no possibility
in the applet and no one in the web account. It's right, that the normal 'files
page'[2] appear, but i havn't the possibility to add my computer to my Ubuntu
One account.

In the logs (attached to the bug) stands something about 'Token was not
successfully retrieved', shouldn't this be the point to start ?

In the logs stands something about the NetworkManager. Is the NetworkManager
obligatory? I'm using wicd.

'ubuntuone-client-applet --signup' doesn't work neither.

kind regards,
boe

The problem you're seeing is due to the change in domain name. This is
fixed in ubuntuone-client 0.95.1 (or 0.95.0+r213 if running from beta
PPA). The 0.95.1 package will show up in Karmic in the next couple of
days (as it /just/ missed the alpha6 freeze).

Hi,

No more to comment really. It's the 20th Sept and I have just done the installation and got *exactly* the same results.

Any ideas on what the problem is / when it will be fixed?

Cheers

Andy,

You weren't able to complete the installation with the latest client release? That is what this bug report is for, so I want to make sure you're having the same issue (can't add your computer to your account) or a different one. I do know that over the weekend we were having issues with some of our servers. I'm not sure if this would've caused problems for you.

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi!

This bug is marked as a duplicate of bug 426622 - but appears to be a completely different issue. In any case, I've just installed the Ubuntu One client (version 1.0.1+r257-0ubuntu1~ppa1~jaunty) and have exactly the same problem described here. I do not appear to have any way to add this computer to my account.

Is there any link I can use to add a computer to the account? Otherwise, the only option I have is to manually add files.

Regards,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Since you are using the PPA version on Jaunty, can you file a new bug by right-clicking on the Ubuntu One client and selecting "Report a Problem"? Please include the steps you're taking and the errors (if any) you are seeing. Also, you may want to quit the Ubuntu One client and try starting it from a terminal session: ubuntuone-client-applet

Any output from the command above will be useful to have in the bug report.

Thank you,

Joshua
