luksformat gives this cryptic error if you enter a lower case "YES". This should point to an error saying: Command failed. Could not create LUKS device /dev/sdd1 because you need to type YES in uppercase. If there is a way to change the error "Could not create LUKS device /dev/sdd1 at /usr/sbin/
