Bug Description
Hi,
I use the mail applet and have the "hide unless new" option checked. I have the AWN starting automatically with the system. When the AWN starts, the behavior of the mail applet can be divided into two cases, depending on whether my internet connection is active or not:
1) The internet connection is active and applet successfully authorizes to my GMail account, but the icon doesn't hide if there's no new mail. Only when clicking the icon and re-checking for new mail, the icon hides.
2) The internet connection is not yet active (I have wi-fi and sometimes it takes a while to connect), applet fails to authorize and asks me for username and password. When I fill in the credentials and meanwhile the internet connection becomes active, the applet then authorizes successfully and the icon hides immediately. The only problem is that I have a pending tooltip "0 unread messages" above the place the icon used to be and it won't disappear no matter what I do. It disappears only when new email arrives, the icon reappears and I hover the mouse over it and then leave.
Ubuntu 9.04 with Compiz Fusion
AWN version 0.3.3~bzr565 from the testing PPA (deb)
AWN extras version 0.3.3~bzr1181 from the testing PPA (deb)
NVidia 8600M GT, driver version 180.44
Hope the report is of any use to you, I can provide you with more information if you want.
Regards,
Jan Hink
