Bug Description

When adding a mailbox in the mailbox list area of the properties dialog, the following error is incorrectly reported:

  unhandled POP3 mailbox (unable to resolve pop-server.nc.rr.com: Temporary failure in name resolution

The error is incorrect because using the command "nslookup pop-server.nc.rr.com" on the very same computer returns a valid result, 75.180.132.63.

This is mail-notification version 5.4 under Fedora 11 beta preview.

Note also that this error is intermittent or otherwise inconsistent. I.e., when updating mailbox information, sometimes the error goes away and everything works properly. But unfortunately many times the error comes back, even when all the mailbox setup information is correct and hasn't been changed. It seems to come back after restarted the system or logging out and back in.

Note that this error is occurring when first logging in to an account on a laptop that is wirelessly connected.

I conjecture that the wireless connection is not yet established when mail-notification first starts (as a gnome startup) and thus the error is correct at that point in time, and further that there is some error in updating the status from that point forward, e.g., by right-clicking and selecting the "Update" menu option, even though the wireless network is up at that point.

It has been quite a while, is this still an issue now? (never had that problem myself with 5.4)
