Disabled rendering formats in kdenlive, e.g. x264

Bug Description

Ubuntu Jaunty, kdenlive 0.7.3-0ubuntu2
x264 rendering is unaccessible, although libx264 and libfaac are installed.
same situation with mpeg2, mpeg4, xvid4. Libs are in place, but kdenlive grayed out these profiles.
Surprisingly, realvideo is active.

avidemux works fine

I'm seeing this too.

There is a bug related to this in the kdenlive bugtracker, but marked as fixed:
http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=674

However I tried the fix that they give (install libmlt-dev, restart the config wizard) and it doesn't help for me.

I have opened this thread in the kdenlive forums:

Here's the answer that I got in the kdenlive forums:

this is problem exists because the ubuntu packager forgot to rebuild libmlt++1 after the latest libmlt1 rebuild. If you want to see this look at the number of package revision :

libmlt1 is at version 0.3.8-0ubuntu2

libmlt++1 at version 0.3.8-0ubuntu1

I have rebuilt mlt++ against the new mlt, cleaned .kde directory, and now all is ok.

So it seems the only way for users to fix it is to recompile :-(
