Agreed. I can't use Intrepid or Jaunty (I've tried the final versions of both) because of the VPN PPTP issues. I've searched and posted both here and on ubuntuforums.org about this and I've read everything about it and tried several fixes, but it still does not work in Intrepid and Jaunty :-(

The VPN PPTP in Hardy works PERFECTLY every time. Network Manager 0.6.6. Intrepid (?) and Jaunty use 0.7, which appears to be quite badly broken. I am forced to continue to use Hardy as I have to have access to a VPN connection.

For what it's worth, I found a solution to PPTP VPN in Jaunty (and presumably Intrepid too). Should also work for other distros I think.

Can confirm - using the exact same settings, via the exact same ui, I can vpn from one machine running 10.04 and cannot vpn from another (this) machine running 9.04 - it doesn't even seem to try to connect - manually clicking on the connection does nothing...

exact same settings
