screen flashes and KDE tool bar disapears with OOo open

This was a somewhat widespread issue in that the bug itself had several symptoms, including corruption of window titlebars and the corruption of the plasma panel when certain apps such as OO.o were open.

So is the fix just upgrading the driver? I didn't see any comments about
flashing.

This behaviour is still happening on my system as well.

Kubuntu 8.10 amd64, nVidia 9800GT, Driver version 180.22

OO.o doesn't even need to be running, usually happens after the system's been up for 5 hours or more.
