Bug Description

i have migrated from 8.04 to 8.10 and updated everything. I got the wi-fi function by the migration, but the original wired connection is not functional. I know it is connected since I can ping the router with 100% response, however, the firefox is not able to load anything ever since, show the same msg as if no connection is found after I turn off wireless connection.

What is unusual is if I check check "work off line" in firefox, it may bring up ONE page, but unreliably. after that, firefox will show it is not loading anything because it is offline.....

After i started using wicd to get my wifi card working firefox is always starting offline.
I changed the application starter for firefox by adding the option -offline example: firefox -offline %u
Now firefox starts online.
