Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
/var/log/
I have multiple OSs on multiple hard drives/partitions on this machine for testing and other purposes, some of these OSs are broken/abandoned. I have a real need to manually partition for installation but it seems there is no way to disable migration assistant in this instance so it tries and fails. Who can blame it?
Migration assistant should not even be attempting what it is trying to do here. There is no way to bypass migration assistant which would resolve the problem of ubiquity crashing and subsequently failing to install grub and turning the entire install exercise into an in-depth hands on grub tutorial which I do not have either the time or inclination to explore.
This has also happened with Jaunty Alpha3 and Alpha4 but they do not get as far in reporting this crash as Intrepid.
