Bug Description
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 and when i used the fn + up or down arrows to change screen brightness, the keyboard went dead (except i could continue to use the fn+up or down keys). I am using ubuntu 8.10 with the latest kernel and a fully updated environment.

Hi Brian,
I see you reported this bug a while ago but it was only recently assigned to the proper "linux (Ubuntu)" kernel package. It's important to make sure bugs are reported against a specific package to help ensure that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/Bugs/ FindRightPackag e .
That being said, I'm curious if this is still an issue for you? Could you test the most recent pre-release of Jaunty 9.04, currently Alpha 6 - http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/releases/ jaunty/ . You should be able to test via a LiveCD. Please let us know. Thanks.
