Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

Using Intrepid fresh installation.

After setting synaptic to direct internet connection, synaptic is still trying to use the proxy server.

W: Failed to fetch http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/s/soundconverter/soundconverter_1.3.2-0ubuntu1_all.deb
  Could not resolve 'proxy'

'proxy' is the name of the proxy server previously set.

I have tried changing the system wide settings and restarting synaptic. The only workaround I have is to do all my installs at work.

I have the same problem here. Current jaunty release. I did a sudo apt-get purge synaptic but the problem affects apt-get as well. I have deleted the /etc/apt/apt.conf file.
