Bug Description
NetworkManager does not show nor connect to Wifi if/when is turned on *after* boot
If/when a switch on my wifi switch *after* booting Ubuntu 8.10, the NetworkManager Applet will not show any wifi functionality nor any networks nor any connectivity. Turning off and on Wifi does not help. The wifi driver iwl3945 is loaded all the time.
Work around: right mouse click on NetworkManager Applet, uncheck "Enable Networking", and then check it again. NetworkManager will then show Wifi fucntionality and connect.
Included: screendump as proof.
Ubuntu 8.10 32bit
Wifi is Centrino with iwl3945
