Thanks for your report.

From your log file the error is:
=====
Setting up linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-21-generic (2.6.24-21.32) ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-21-generic

gzip: stdout: No space left on device
update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.24-21-generic
dpkg: error processing linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-21-generic (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
=====

It seems that there's no space left on device. Can you free some space an retry.

I'm closing this report, but feel free to reopen if it's still an issue and you think this is not related to free space.

Thanks.

Thank you Jean,
I think that solved it.
So here for the ones having similar issues...

after a quick search on how I could free some memory I ran 'sudo apt-get autoclean' and had a look in synaptic at my old kernels - search for linux in package names. Simply by removing the old kernels I could free 500MB+
