No logout sound is heard

Bug Description

I am running Ubuntu Hardy Haron, version 8.04.1. I have an Acer Extensa series ,model 4620Z. I have made sure in System>Preferences>Sound that the Logout sound is played when I log out. When I played the preview, It worked fine. But when I actually logged out normally, the sound did not play at all. The LOGIN sound plays when I LOGIN, though. Some say that this bug was fixed in Hardy, but it was not fixed in this situation!
