The installation reports that something is wrong with the network connection and the installation of this package doesnt work when upgrading to 8.10 beta from 8.04. Sorry for providing so few details about it.

Have you locked you root account (either with passwd -l or passwd -e)?
If so then this is likely a dup of bug 238755
For the moment a workaround is to run
sudo passwd --unlock root
sudo usermod --lock root
then replay your upgrade.
