inline message images will not forward

I have 2.0.0.23 on both Vista and Linux Mint machines and both have the same problem. This only happens with forwarding; reply does include the inline pics. Forwarding also fails to include the text of the message.

Addendum to my previous message. I was prompted to post this bug because of problems forwarding a particular message. Since then I tried replying to the message, but replacing the reply address with my own, and sending in "plain text and html" format. I also added a few comments to the beginning of the message. This worked because I could then forward the received message to friends without problem -- both the text and inline images were included in the forwarded message. I am uploading the original message in case that helps.

I wonder if there is an issue with the plain text vs html settings when forwarding messages. Is this automatically set to non-html in some cases?

I have this problem running Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 and Ubuntu 9.10 . My work around is to hit [reply] instead of forwarding the message, and then to edit the address in the "To:" field and thus send to my intended recipient instead of the originating address. It strikes me as the code for forwarding and replying should be nearly the same. The reply process works, can that not be adopted into the forwarding code?

Same problem with Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 and Windows XP sp3... it seems, we match this problem only with certain html message received... I noticed this trick, if I view the message as "simple html" and click forward it doesn't show the original body message, but if we see the original message as "original html" or "text" and then we clik forword, the original body has shown... for the while this could be a workaround.

Same bug. Thunderbird 3.1.10 on Vista.

When viewed with 'Simple HTML' the message will not appear when forwarded. Change the view to 'Original HTML' and it works.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I'm using Thunderbird 15.0 on Ubuntu 11.10 and I've forwarded a message with inline images to other Thunderbird users and to Outlook users and there is no setings in either mailclient that will solve the problem. The inline code in the original email for the image part starts with :

I'm not sure how the "Thisbodypartwillbedownloadedondemand" is supposed to work and I'd very much like to have an explanation from the developers on this one.
