single page PDF GUI for microfilm newspapers: customer request

Rita Van Duinen from UNC is really excited about microfilm. She recently volunteered some feedback. She requests:

"For the newspapers you've already digitized (Tar Heel, Daily Tar Heel),
is it possible to add the year indicator next to the month indicator for
particular volumes? That would make browsing much easier for users."

I believe she is referring to the GUI on the item page. Right now if the item spans many years then it becomes difficult to determine which month is from what year. Heres an example:
