Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
When first booting, a "halo" is around all of the windows (see attached image). It's a gradient, usually in pink, but sometimes in other colors.
If I select another theme and then switch back to the original one under Appearance, this problem disappears until the next reboot.
Ubuntu 8.04
nVidia 8800GTS using proprietary drivers.

I can confirm - Also using nVidia 8800gts and same halo, also features around the top and bottom panels. It seems like the shadow effects that are rendered in Compiz are rendered in photo negative.
Funny it is listed as a bug, I quite liked the effect and was rather distraught when it disappeared.
My halo's disappeared when I changed the shadow effects size for windows using compiz-config manager. Will check if they are back after reboot.
