Cheese can't connect to r5u870 VCC7 webcam

Bug Description

I have a Vaio with VCC7 webcam, supported by the r5u870 driver (http://wiki.mediati.org/Installation). Cheese used to work, but now it doesn't - all I get is the test pattern. This change occurred sometime around Hardy Beta. Running:

$~: gst-launch-0.10 v4l2src ! ffmpegcolorspace ! ximagesink

Shows me a picture of me and the green LED is on, so the driver is working.
