Thanks for reporting.
I can confirm that his is not about a cold cache. I get the timeout even after reloading the page several times. It might also not a recent change, as I also receive this error on staging and out dev box.
Can you please elaborate whether this project is still active in use?

I am just trying to assess the importance of this issue.
Update:
I just saw that the GitHub project mentions that "defects" are handled at Launchpad. So, it looks like this is active.
Do you happen to know since when there are timeouts?
