File Associations Settings Module Broken Under KDE4 (Hardy)

Here you go. Please also note that I have KDE4 installed on both my laptop and desktop, I have this issue on both.

Also, I have the package "kubuntu-kde4-desktop" installed but it didn't show up in the list I posted for some reason.

I still have not been able to re-produce this. However, the beta came out today. Could you test this on the beta please.

This problem happens with fresh installed Alpha 6 KDE4 for me as well.

I had to restore anyway so I did as you asked. Same problem. In fact, in
System Settings, "Sharing" and "About Me" are broken and give the same error
as well.

No offense to anyone, but with the severe Kickoff menu glitches and broken
System Settings control panels, Kubuntu is beginning to be hard for me to
stick with.

Nightwish fan from the Ubuntu Forums solved this mystery. I installed kde4-core and it pulled in some packages that weren't installed before, and then everything that wasn't working in System Settings started working.

I installed Kubuntu KDE4 Remix by first installing Ubuntu (not Kubuntu) and then from a terminal I installed "kubuntu-kde4-desktop". The problem is probably because the kubuntu-kde4-desktop doesn't depend on kde4-core like it should.

Making the kde4-core package a dependency of Kubuntu-kde4-desktop package would probably be the easiest solution.
