awn-manager crashed with Restarting AWN usually solves this issue in setup_chooser()

This is a know issue upstream. avant-window-navigator itself must be run at least one before awn-manager can be run.

restarting awn does not help

Restarting Awn just causes it to crash again, is their anything else I can do?

Which version of Awn are you running?

If you aren't running 0.3.2 or later, please do so. If you need packages, there are some available at our PPA:

now I don't still have AWN anymore 'cause I have re-installed Ubuntu and
I've not reinstalled. But in the last days I was restaring all GDM when AWN
crashes. I know it's annoying but it was a simple and rapid solution.. :(
