As hinted at in bug #1920641, I often feel like I have to wrestle a bit with the UI to see information, because my intended use is pretty different when I'm in the Account (transactions list) dialog (where I often maximize the window because I want to see/process "everything") vs when I'm inside a report dialog looking at the "Details" pane of a particular row of the report. The report dialog is very often not maximized, and quite often on a secondary screen, so the usage pattern is different; however the "Details" pane shows the transactions the same way (inheriting the settings) as the full-fledged "Transactions" dialog.
It would be very nice if the customizeable columns (and their widths) was making (and saving) a distinction between the Account dialog and the reports dialogs, so that I don't have to do this constant "tug-of-war" of reorganizing the columns everytime I switch between account transactions and reporting. I don't need it to remember different layouts "for each type of report", having the same settings for all the various reports is fine; but I do wish it I could have a "simplified" view of transactions when I'm in the reports vs the Account transactions dialog. That way, in the reports I wouldn't show every column, and various columns would be have a narrower width.
