Bug Description
There are beta versions of MAAS in the stable MAAS PPAs.
The MAAS package versions in ppa:maas/2.7 are:
bionic:
maas | 2.7.1~beta1-
eoan:
maas | 2.7.0-8232-
focal:
maas | 2.7.0-8232-
bionic is the only ubuntu release with a beta version of maas 2.7.
The MAAS documentation[1] says:
"You can install a newer stable version via PPAs listed on the MAAS launchpad, including [...] ppa:maas/2.7"
There is a conflict with the MAAS docs announcing that PPA as stable and the beta packages being built in that PPA. It seems as though the stable PPA is being used to build the beta versions. Only stable versions should be published in those MAAS PPAs (ie. ppa:maas/2.6, ppa:maas/2.7, etc.).
This causes users using that PPA to automatically upgrade to the beta release when they do an apt upgrade or when unattended upgrades kicks off.
