Bug Description
if i have the preview column turned on, it redraws a lot and slows down the rest of the ui
(mixxx 2.2.0 on fedora, from rpmfusion)

On Fefora 29 with Gnome Wayland (default) and an Intel® Core™ i5-6440HQ / HD Graphics 530 I don't see a different load both with or without the preview column. Mixxx is idling around 12-14% CPU. Please provide more details about your system configuration and attach a Mixxx log file.
Performance regressions after switching from Qt4 to Qt5 have mainly been reported for macOS. There is another issue that mentions the preview column: https:/
