System fails to resume and freezes after suspend (Xubuntu 16.04 Kernel 4.15.0.39)

Bug Description

I can suspend 1~2 times and resume normally. On the next one the computer will freeze. Black screen, keyboard unresponsive, no hard-drive activity. Hard restart required every time.

Xubuntu 16.04.5 LTS
