I'm not sure when it was last updated but there is a mirror available at http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/getdeb/ubuntu that's currently up.

The repos haven't been updated since September 2017.

It's definitely dead / abandoned.

Fortunately, there's many different alternative ways to get the software that was in the repos.

Any way to get a package listing from getdeb and playdeb?
Also, a way to get an older version of the sites source code?

It might be of use if someone ever wants to re-start it. AFAIK it happened before did it not(GetDeb went down, and someone re-created it?)

Who originally ran GetDeb/PlayDeb? Maybe he/she can be contacted to see if/why the project was abandoned?

Sorry for double posting, but, it looks like João Pinto ran the repo's. It does not look like he has been active for several years(though I haven't checked GitHub or IRC).
AFAIK PlayDeb and GetDeb was abandoned several years ago, but someone else took over the project and continued it, it is possible that João was the old maintainer. And the owner as of 2017 is someone else. I will check archive.org to see if I can find any leads.

I am surprised OMGUbuntu has not reported on this yet...

The older member of this group was (AFAIK) the initial maintainer, the younger member took over several (10?) years ago. The younger member has been the only maintainer of both Getdeb and Playdeb for the past couple of years, as is also reflected on their GitHub.

Today, the server archive.getdeb.net points to became available again (after 2.5 months of not responding), but this Hetzner server now seems to be operated by someone else, hosting a different project.

I conclude that Getdeb/Playdeb are dead and aren't coming back. As a result, I've taken down the monitoring I had setup on statuscake.com, and will soon take down the mirror we (MegaGlest) hosted at getdeb.megaglest.org, too (not keeping a backup since we are a bit short of space now). I will wait a couple more days in case anyone would like a copy or has different suggestions.

Thanks a lot to the Getdeb.net/Playdeb.net team and their tremendous efforts over the years!

So, how much space does your mirror use in gigabytes?
