Bug Description

I own the Razer Blade 15 (2018) laptop with the Microsoft Precision Track pad, and the 4.16 or the 4.17 kernel was not able to detect the track pad.

I do believe that this is affecting all Razer Blade 15 laptops, due to the nature of the issue.

I tried both the 4.16 and 4.17 kernel, both did not detect the track pad. However, the 4.17 kernel didn't work with my WiFi card, so went back to 4.16.

I have included my ~/dmesg, ~/devices, /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Just going through it myself, it appears that 'Razer Razer Blade' is sometimes being tagged as a mouse ([ 326.038] (II) event11 - Razer Razer Blade: is tagged by udev as: Mouse). Weird.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.18 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Installed Kernel v4.18 rc2. Bug was not fixed, therefore adding tag "kernel-bug-exists-upstream". I also added the apport information, so I will mark the bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks for your continued support!
