Gurjeet, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Please advise to all of the following:
1) To clarify, after you get a purple blank screen when putting in credentials, does it ever get to the desktop environment?
2) Which desktop environments have you tried to log into where this happens? For example, Ubuntu (Wayland), Unity, etc.
3) Is this something that started to happen after an update? If so, which and when precisely?
4) After the issue occurs, are there files in the /var/crash folder?
