Firefox crashes on launch

Bug Description

Firefox 56.0 crashes right when I attempt to launch it on my Raspberry Pi 3 running Ubuntu Mate 16.04.

The error message

ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal...

ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to child

which is printed to the terminal when I launch it from a terminal is similar to the error message reported in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1671079 but that bug report is about Firefox 52, the bug has already been fixed, and setting

export LOGNAME=$USER

doesn't solve the problem, so it seems to be a different bug.
