Bug Description

Please add a feature to merge (flatten) layers similar
to as found in The GIMP.

Reasonable request. Bumping Priority.
Please help us by checking the latest version of Inkscape to
make sure this feature has not already been added and there
are no duplicate requests for this feature.

I thought we had Merge Layers already, please check current
version.
Certainly it was always part of the functionality planned
for Layers.

I'm literally ten minutes in to trying Inkscape and this is where I've ended up. This is where you want peeps to be after 10 minutes with Inkscape? Seriously? I think I hear GIMP calling me.

This isn't exactly a missing capability that nobody's going to notice.
