support latest AWS instance sizes and types

1. Which version of Juju are using? There were some AWS updates that went into Juju 2.1.
2. Are there some specific types and sizes you are interested in?

@anastasia-macmood The full suite of t2 instance types. Previously we only had (in 2.0.3) t2 types <= t2.large. It would be nice to see the i3 instance type supported as well.

Please checkout 2.1 :D We have added new AWS regions. That work, as a drive-by, should have brought in additional instance types and sizes...

@anastasia-macmood Right you are. Everything seems to be populating/aupported correctly across instance types and sizes in 2.1! Thanks!

Marking as Fixed Released for 2.1 as the updates done there are sufficient according to comment # 4.

We will further update this list for 2.2 with instance types and sizes that have become available lately.

Where can one look to find out which instance types are supported by a given release? I'm running 2.1.1 client and controller and am unable to deploy a p2.xlarge in aws/us-east-1.

Juju would use instance types found in https://github.com/juju/juju/blob/develop/provider/ec2/internal/ec2instancetypes/generated.go

I can see p2.xlarge in aws/eu-west-1 as well as in aws/us-east-1, aws/us-west-2.

If you are experiencing issues getting a specific instance, could you please file a separate report with logs and bootstrap/deploy command details? This report deals just with keeping the region/isntance type lists uptodate.

I am closing this report for 'juju' as we are currently up-to-date.

I am, however, adding ci-tools to the report. We have discussed adding a periodic check that would compare AWS regions and instance types available in Juju with the actual available regions/types in AWS.
